The New Model
Henry's got to get used to being my new model - especially as his older sister insists on shouting 'cheese, sausages, pineapple' very loudly when you point a camera her way these days, which doesn't make it easy getting a nice shot of her!
These pics were taken when he was was a week old, he's now already twice that. However tired I feel I REALLY want to relish this little new born (although I have to remind myself of that at five in the morning when he doesn't want to go to sleep)!
Of course this might really be how he feels about having his photo taken!

Before and After
Chaos rules again!
Our new little boy arrived at 1.48am last Wednesday, 12th January.
So, little Henry will be dominating this house for a while - and quite rightly!
While I was still pregnant I read Nina's account of her babies birth.
I can't quite face re-living the birth by writing it here... it was, it should go without saying, excruciatingly painful. I only had gas and air in the end as the birth was pretty quick (although it felt very very very long at the time)!
By total coincidence he was delivered by the same midwife as my first baby.
I'll spare any readers further details, except to say that of course it's all worth it and that the human body is truly amazing. As the delivery was 'normal' we were at home 18 hours after Henry was born - great considering that with Coco I was in hospital for a week and am only alive thanks to modern medicine - but that is another story!
Right - I'm off, nappies to change and all that!

The Waiting Game
40 weeks and 3 days pregnant... Our house is tidier than it's been, um, ever. Plus I'm actually getting organised; in a very slow-paced and loose sense.
Did some 'filing' ie, put all Coco's artwork and birthday cards in a box and labeled it. I do love my labelling machine.
Actually packed my hospital bag, and have put aside some tiny baby-grows that I had for Coco for 'up to 5lb' and 'up to 7.5lb' babies. I think I'm in for a bruiser this time around.
I've even written my Christmas thank-you letters.*
I have a list that is almost all ticked off. That could be called a miracle.
Today I'll be tidying some cupboards, if the baby hasn't arrived I might post some photos of the results tomorrow. That will give EVERYONE something to look forward to!
*Haven't done your thank-you letters!? Shame on you. Why not buy some 'thank-you' cards from my Etsy shop!?

January Birthdays
Even apart from our imminent arrival (hopefully imminent anyway; I don't think I can get any bigger!) I know quite a few people with early January birthdays... and most of them have got or are getting a variation on this bunting card. I know - bunting AGAIN, I'm getting a bit bored of it too.
Made of paper, string and my trusty Cavallini rubber stamp set I was actually thinking of putting it in a matchbox until Hugh suggested tacking it onto paper - will try a matchbox version too I think, but easier for people to display in its more traditional card format!
I've also made a few new baby cards recently in a similar style...
I've added versions of both to my etsy shop today.
