Summer, is that you?

So we've been on holiday, well a mini-break with duty intertwined to visit Hugh's family in Scotland.
Yes it's true, Coco was naked, on a beach, in SCOTLAND.
Stranger things have not happened.

Is this pink dot enough to protect my daughter's modesty? Or am I a bad mother?
At least she'd approve of the colour...

If she'd have taken the photo of me sitting on the beach you'd have noticed that I was still in a jumper... however it was lovely and warm and great to be able to dip toes and bottoms in the sea.

Was nice to have a technology/blog break, but now feel like I've got a lot of catching up to do. Can't win!

B is for Bicycle & Brompton

I LOVE this bike.
BUT - Should it stay or should it go?
It's not getting much use at the moment... (due to baby presence and the much more ugly, but useful, bike that has the rather essential child seat). If we sell it we could buy a tree for the garden, some wallpaper for the stairs, tiles for a fireplace - amazing how many times you can spend money isn't it?
And then I remember that I love it, and I want to take it on the Tweed Run and the Dunwich Dynamo (reality check needed)?
Urgh. I'm so not good at decisions.

This is one of many items that I'm having 'mixed' feelings for at the moment (wedding dress included).
The effort that I'm putting into thinking about them could have been spent 1000 times over on much more useful things too.

The bike in the picture is actually my FIRST Brompton bike (now on my third Cornflower Blue one). These photos were taken on the very first day I had it - way back in 2004. I guess that's the only time that you take photos of a bike, as there haven't been any taken since.

Those were the days; go buy a bike, tootle around the sights of London, grab a coffee at Borough and then back to the Kensington flat! A lot has changed in the last seven years...

Comments (and opinions) welcome!

Mothers Day Musings...

Sunday was the fourth Mother's day where I was one of the said creatures that are meant to be being celebrated...

But I'm feeling a bit behind.
Where is the motherhood crash course? I need a few catch up classes, something like:
- How to have patience.
- Reading aloud (my mind wanders and I end up yawning... especially when asked to read the current favourite Mr Men books)!
- Advanced patience
- Meal time pre planning - so you don't end up with a totally 'overtired' and hangry (hungry/angry) child*

*Yes I just used that term OVERTIRED - I hated it when my parents accused me of being overtired! Wow, I really am a parent, I don't need that crash course after-all.

This is the card that I made for my Mother on Sunday (yes I made it ON Sunday... last minute as ever)! Then we did this impromptu blue photo shoot - the card isn't one of my best, the picture in my minds eye was good, just didn't transfer so well. Annoying. Although it sometimes goes the other way and things turn out better than you imagined, so I'm happy to take the rough with the smooth.

Has anyone noticed that Wednesday is the only day I get to post nowadays!? Coco is at nursery until four... I get free day fever and I rush around trying to whizz through my to-do list... I pretty much always plan/hope that I'll get out and about; and for one reason or other am always thwarted! Today my camera battery was flat - and what's the point in going out without my camera? - that's the sort of crazy logic that I'm plagued with at the moment! Actually, it's only 10.15 - so there's still hope!
